EPU/EUROFEDOP draws up statement against measures affecting the Romanian Police Forces

Strassburg, European Parliament Plenary Session, 8 June 2011

Tuesday 7 June 2011

Eurofedop, having been informed by its member organisation SNPPC of harsh measures taken by the Government of Romania, deeply affecting the personnel of police forces in this country (thousands have been dismissed, the remaining face a reduction of 30 % in their salary), has taken contact with Members of the European Parliament to ask support for the cause of workers in the Romanian Police Forces. Thus, in particular, Eurofedop has taken contact with MEPs participating in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, the Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence as well as all Romanian Members of the European Parliament.
