Currently, Romania is in the middle of the reform of its healthcare system. The FSSDR appeals to the Government for getting involved in real social dialogue to discuss the future of the Romanian healthcare system. Not only the emergency services but also health insurance and hospitals are at risk.
The trade union is prepared to help drafting the new law. It is of the view that total privatisation has to be rejected. Privatisation in health services should be limited.
Moreover, as regards the organisation of health insurance and adjacent health services units, the trade union pleads for setting up social dialogue talks at bipartite and not at tripartite level. Politicians should be kept away from public funds in this domain.
