At last … Slovenia has a Minister of Health!

After a month of searching Alenka Trop Skaza became Minister of Health.

Alenka Trop Skaza was born on 17 August 1964 in Celje and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana in general medicine in 1989. After completing her internship, she began working at the Celje Institute of Social Medicine (now the Institute of Public Health), first as a doctor at the Department of Microbiology, and then during her specialist training at the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology. After completing her specialist training, she was appointed Head of Epidemiology Sector within the Department, and after its reorganisation, Head of the Department of Epidemiology of Contagious Disease.

Dr. Alenka Trop Skaza. chief physician, has actively focused on educating the professional and general public on preventing contagious disease, and has also worked as a teacher and mentor of students and young professionals who need to acquire this knowledge as part of their studies. She is a specialist in public health, which involves all levels of the health sector, and a member of various professional associations, in which she has become familiar with the issues and activities of the Ministry of Health.

Before being appointed Minister of Health, she was Head of the Regional Unit of the National Institute of Public Health in Celje.
