Council of Europe - Eurofedop’s entitlement to lodge complaints as INGO renewed until June 2022

Tuesday 22 May 2018

Eurofedop’s request for extending the competence it possesses to introduce complaints against countries which are not in line with the social rights as guaranteed by the Council of Europe’s European Charter of Social Rights, has been approved by the Governmental Committee.

Consequently, from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2022, Eurofedop continues to have the power to put pressure on your government if you are of the opinion that your country fails to abide by the provisions as laid down in one of Europe’s strongest instruments for the respect of social rights. (On condition that your country has accepted the Additional protocol providing for a system of collective complaints. The countries which up till now have accepted the collective complaints procedure are: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden.)
